We all are aware of famous books such as Half Girlfriend, 2 states, Kai Poche which are converted as a blockbuster movie. The way these movies are based on a book every other movie is written in the form of a script. Multiple scripts are created in a single day from which hardly few are converted into a movie.
What makes these scripts a special one to be highlighted in the industry?
Today we are going to discuss those factors which can make your script one in a million.
- Understand the difference between story, script and a screenplay!
Every script has a plot where everything is explained in detail. A story is read by or told to the audience where they can visualize the scenarios.
A script is a second step of movie making. The story is further constructed as a script where dialogues are written and the scenes are explained.
The screenplay can be called as the final draft where the story is explained in a technical term including the angle of camera, places to shoot etc.
2) What is linear and non-linear story?
Before starting with a script decide whether you want your story to be linear or non-linear.
A linear story is where you start with an introduction and completes a story with a climax at the end. Whereas a non-linear story is started with a conclusion where the audience has an idea of a certain thing but clueless about a reason or a story behind it.
First, decide the way you want your story to be and then start writing.
3) Be clear with your story.
No one wants confusion. The audience doesn’t want a confusing story and you don’t want confusted audience. Set an outline for your story so you don’t get distracted from it. Also, believe in your story then only you can make everyone else believe in it.
4) Avoid duplication!
Every friday is blockbuster Friday and everyone is coming up with the most creative content. No one wants to spend their money on the same story they have been watching. Let the creativity in you seen in your scripts and just avoid the duplication of the story or even character.
5) Make sure the audience experience the exact visual of the stroy you have in your mind!
Apart from entertainment what else do you want in your story? Every movie is considered as successful if it entertains the audience. But a story is successful only if the audience experiences and feels the exact visuals of a writer!
