Camera Anatomy of the Rear part of the camera

R 1: Eyecup

When a photographer is in contact with the eyepiece the eye-cup is to prevent light from entering.

R 2: Viewfinder Eyepiece

Camera Anatomy of the Rear part of the camera includes viewfinder eyepiece which is an important part of every camera. It is a small window from which a person looks to find the object and to establish a focus on it. This viewfinder reduces the external light which helps a photographer to concentrate on the subject. The viewfinder eyepiece makes easier to track moving objects.

R 3: LCD Monitor

As the name says, LCD Monitor displays all the information including the menu. From LCD Monitor a photographer can magnify the images displayed on the screen.

R 4: MENU Button

The menu button of the rear part of the camera anatomy is used to know all the available options in the camera.

R 5: Playback Button

The playback button is used to check the last images that have been clicked by a Photographer.

R 6: Wi-fi Lamp

A few cameras have Wi-Fi lamp as the rear part of the camera. This lamp indicates the status of the wireless connection.

A photographer needs this knob or switch to adjust the clarity of the image according to the need.

The last but one of the important parts of Camera Anatomy of the rear part of the camera is Settings on Quick Control Screen which has the following options:

QC 1: Shooting Mode

This displays the type of mode a photographer is using while capturing the photo or shooting the movie.

QC 2: Shutter Speed

The shutter speed indicates the time when shutter is open.

QC 3: Battery Level

The battery percentage is displayed on the screen under the section of battery level.

QC 4: Shots Remaining

A memory card has a definite size and that much photos can be captured. The remaining shots are displayed on the screen.

QC 5: Image-recording Format/ Quality

This section indicates the format or quality which is selected by a photographer.

QC 6: ISO Speed

A photographer has an option of selecting the ISO speed in manual mode. The higher ISO speed makes it easier for a photographer to capture in a dimly lit scene.

QC 7: Aperture Value

This section indicates the aperture value of the camera while capturing. A smaller value means the aperture is wide open and more amount of light can be transferred.

Camera Anatomy Part 1

Camera Anatomy

The photographer captures an image and stores it. This is the basic which everyone knows but a real photographer understands his camera better than anyone else. Finding a way around the functions and controls of DSLR is a must for all the photographers and Cinematographers. Sometimes the functions vary with the brand but the basic control remains the same. This article will definitely help you to know your camera.

A camera device is further divided into the following parts

Front
Rear
Top
Side
Bottom

In this article, we will study the parts front end camera in detail. Starting with the Front end of the camera, there exist 8 parts which are as follows:-

Shutter Button

The button which clicks the picture is known as the shutter button. This button normally has two clicks. One-click focuses on the picture and the other one captures the photo.

Red-eye reduction/self-timer lamp

The red-eye reduction is related to flash to remove the red-eye effect. The light of this section goes high after turning the flash on. When the self-timer mode is set for this section the light goes on until the picture is taken.

Lens mount

Every camera needs a proper lens. Sometimes the lenses are detachable. The lenses are mounted on the cameras and the area where the lens is mounted is known as lens mount.

Lens mount index

Every lens, as well as a camera, has a red dot to detect the place where the lens will be perfectly fit.

Lens release button

Once the work of the lens is done it has to be removed. To avoid any kind of damage the lens is released after pressing a button on the camera.

Mirror

We all are aware of the working procedure of a camera. The light passes through a window and the image is formed on a screen which is known as the mirror which further reflects on the main screen of the camera.

Microphone

The microphone used in the camera is used to record the audio while shooting. The microphone used in the cameras is either monaural or stereo depending on the camera.

Built-in flash

When the natural light does not work the alternate options are ready in the camera in the form of flash. One can use the flash whenever it is needed or sometimes the flash may be automatically fired in some modes.

Viewfinder Display

The viewfinder display has 4 more parts built in it which go as follows,

AF Point

The viewfinder display has multiple focus points. The selected AF point will be highlighted in the red colour.

Shutter Speed

The shutter speed indicates the time interval during which the shutter is open. The light passes through the shutter in that meantime.

Aperture Value

A smaller value indicates that the aperture is wide open which allows more light to be captured. More the value higher is the blurriness in the picture.

ISO Speed

Higher ISO speed enhances the shots of dimly-lit scenes.
